What this website collects, why it collects it, where it goes and how long it stays. If anything here is unclear, call and ask.

Who we are

Augusta Technology is the trading name of Cocoon Consulting Company, LLC, based in Augusta, Missouri 63332. Augusta Technology is responsible for the information this website collects.

What the forms collect

When you send a message through a form on this site, we receive exactly what you typed into it:

  • your name;
  • your email address, so we can reply;
  • your phone number, if you choose to give one — it is optional;
  • the topic you pick from the list;
  • your message.

Saved alongside it: which page you sent the message from, which form you used, and a short reference number so we can find your enquiry again if you call about it. Nothing else is attached to your message: no advertising identifier, no profile, and nothing linking it to your browsing elsewhere. The forms do carry one hidden anti-spam field, described under “Keeping the forms free of spam” below; it is never filled in by a person and its only purpose is to reject automated submissions.

What happens to it

Your enquiry is saved as a private record in this website’s administration system, which only site administrators can open, and a notification is emailed to contact@augusta-tech.com. That notification repeats the details you entered and is set to reply to your email address, so hitting reply answers you directly. On preview copies of this site the notification is recorded in the administration system instead of being emailed.

We use what you send only to answer you and to provide the service you asked about. We do not sell it, and we do not share it for anyone’s marketing, including our own.

Calls and text messages

You can call or text Nate on 636-231-5555. When you do, we receive your phone number and whatever you say or write: the voicemail you leave or the text you send.

Text messages. Texts are one-to-one conversations with Nate about the service you asked about, for example answering a question, arranging a visit or a remote session, or following up on a job. We reply to texts you send us, and we text you only if you have asked us to reach you that way. Messaging frequency may vary with the conversation. We do not send automated or bulk marketing texts, and we do not add anyone to a texting list.

Rates, STOP and HELP. Message and data rates may apply. If you would rather not be texted, reply STOP or just tell us, and we will stop. For help, reply HELP or call 636-231-5555.

Who carries them. Calls and text messages may pass through our phone and mobile service providers, which may retain routing, delivery and message records under their own privacy practices.

Keep sensitive details out of texts. Ordinary text messages are not end-to-end encrypted. Please do not text passwords, payment card numbers, bank details or similar information. Call instead.

What we do with your number. We use your phone number, and anything you tell us by call or text, only to answer you and to provide the service you asked about. We do not sell it, and we do not share it for anyone’s marketing, including our own. No mobile opt-in or text message consent will be shared with third parties or affiliates. A phone number you enter in a contact form is used only to answer that enquiry: entering it does not sign you up for promotional or marketing texts, and we do not use it for them.

Keeping the forms free of spam

The forms carry a hidden field that a person never sees and never fills in, and they check how long the form took to complete, because automated submissions arrive almost instantly. Both checks reject a submission openly rather than pretending it was sent.

We also limit how many messages can be sent from one internet connection in an hour. To count them we store a one-way coded value derived from your connection’s IP address for up to an hour. That value cannot be turned back into the address, the address itself is never stored with your message, and the counter is discarded when the hour is up.

Cookies

This site sets the cookies it needs to work — a page-cache setting, and login cookies for site administrators — and Google’s measurement cookies, which are listed under “Website measurement” below.

After you send a form, the confirmation message is carried by a short-lived reference in the web address rather than by a cookie. It expires after fifteen minutes and holds nothing beyond the confirmation itself.

Website measurement

Augusta Technology uses Google Tag Manager to load its measurement, and through it Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads conversion measurement, all provided by Google. Measurement is active on this live site. The preview site never loads it.

What is collected. Which pages are viewed, and as separate events: taps on a phone number or a text-message link, clicks on the choices in the “what’s going on?” list and on the service cards, clicks through to the contact page or an email address, clicks on the computer-repair link, and the moment a contact form is submitted. Alongside those, Google receives the ordinary technical information any web request carries: device and browser type, screen size, language, the page address and title, the site or campaign that referred you, and an approximate location — normally no finer than city or region — derived from your network address. A randomly generated visitor and session identifier is created so repeat visits are recognised as the same browser. That identifier is pseudonymous, not anonymous: it does not carry your name, but it is still an identifier.

What is not collected. What you write in the form is never sent to Google. Your name, email address, phone number, chosen topic and message go only to Augusta Technology. Enhanced Conversions, a Google feature that would send a hashed copy of your contact details to Google, is not configured and not in use. A tap on a text-message link is counted as a tap and nothing more: neither your phone number nor anything you write in a text message is ever sent to Google.

Advertising. Where an enquiry followed a click on a Google Ads advertisement, that enquiry is reported to Google Ads as a conversion so the advertising can be measured. The report says an enquiry occurred and nothing more — not your message, your name or your email address. Personalised advertising is switched off, Google Signals is switched off, and no remarketing or audience lists are built from visitors to this site. Those instructions are set as consent defaults before any Google code loads — advertising personalisation and advertising user data are both denied — so they apply to every Google tag on the site rather than to one of them.

Why we collect it. To understand how the site is used and which pages people actually reach, to diagnose errors and slow pages, to count enquiries so we know the contact routes are working, and to judge whether advertising is producing real enquiries. It is not used to build a profile of you, and it is not sold. Google processes it as described in its own notices, linked below.

Cookies and similar identifiers used for measurement. `_ga` and `_ga_HC71HYVDMC` identify a browser and a session for Google Analytics. Where advertising measurement applies, Google may set its own conversion cookies so a conversion can be matched to an advertisement click. One short-lived value is kept in your browser’s tab memory so a single enquiry is not counted twice; it disappears when you close the tab.

Your controls. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, nothing is loaded and nothing is collected: the check happens before any request is made to Google. You can also block or clear cookies in your browser settings. Google explains its own handling of this data in its privacy policy and in how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to answer you and to keep reasonable business records. You can ask us to delete your enquiry at any time, and we will. Quote your reference number if you have it, or just tell us the email address you used.

Text conversations and voicemail are kept for as long as we need them to answer you and to keep reasonable business records. You can ask us to delete them, and we will delete what we hold ourselves; our phone and mobile service providers may keep their own records under their own retention practices.

Asking us about your information

Ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. You reach a person, not a ticket queue.
