Computer repair

Honest, local computer repair

When a laptop or desktop stops working you want it diagnosed properly, fixed without surprises and explained in plain English. Augusta Technology repairs computers for homes and small businesses in Washington, Augusta and the surrounding area — and the person who diagnoses your machine is the person who fixes it.

What to expect

  • Diagnosis first

The actual cause gets found before anything is recommended, and the options are explained to you.

  • Your approval before work

You know what is being done and why before a repair starts. Nothing is a surprise after the fact.

  • Care with your data

Photos, documents and accounts are treated carefully. Wiping a system is a last resort, not a shortcut.

  • A real, local technician

You deal directly with Nate, a U.S.-based technician working out of Augusta — not a call centre and not a queue.

Common questions

What kinds of computers do you work on?

Laptops and desktops, including all the major brands and custom-built machines. Repairs, upgrades, software problems and virus clean-ups are all handled by the same technician.

Do I need to bring the computer to you?

Not always. Many software problems can be handled remotely, on-site visits are available across the service area, and drop-off can be arranged. Call and we will work out which one suits the problem.

Do you repair business computers as well as home ones?

Yes. The same person who looks after company networks and workstations fixes the machine on your desk, which is why a repair call often turns into an easier conversation about the rest of the office.

What should I do before I call?

Write down what the machine was doing when the problem started and the exact wording of any message on screen. If it is behaving strangely and you think it may be infected, stop using it for anything sensitive until it has been looked at.

If this is a business machine

A repair is often the first time a business finds out nobody is looking after its IT. These are the same hands, on an ongoing footing.

  • Managed IT

Workstations, Microsoft 365, networks, security basics, backup and planning — looked after, or shared with your own team.

Computer not behaving?

Tell me what it is doing in your own words. You do not need to know what is wrong with it — that part is my job.
