Remote support
Secure remote computer support
If your computer can still get online, a lot of problems can be sorted out without a visit. You ask for help, a U.S.-based technician calls you back, and the connection is explained to you before anything is set up. Nothing connects unless you agree to it.
Two kinds of remote support
One-time help with a specific problem
You request help and you get a call back. Your technician confirms whether the problem can be handled remotely and how you would connect. Nothing is connected until you agree.
Ongoing support for business clients
For businesses on ongoing support, remote monitoring and management can be set up as part of the service, so routine maintenance does not need a new arrangement every time. Ask what is included.
How a remote support request works
Request help
Call 636-231-5555 or email contact@augusta-tech.com. Say what is happening and the best time to reach you.
We call you
Your technician confirms the problem and explains what will happen before anything is connected.
Connection instructions
If it can be handled remotely, you are told how to connect and walked through it on the call.
Your permission first
Nothing connects without your permission, and you can ask anything you want to know before you agree.
What can be fixed remotely
Most software problems: email and account trouble, printer and scanner drivers, installing and configuring software, virus and malware scans, tune-ups for a computer that has become slow, and plain how-to help when something has changed and you would rather be shown than guess.
Hardware faults need hands. A broken screen, a failed power supply or a drive that has stopped being recognised is not a remote job, and you will be told that rather than charged to find out. For clients in the Washington area an on-site visit or a drop-off is arranged instead.
Stay safe
- We only connect when you have asked us to
- Never let an unexpected caller connect to your computer
- Only connect with a technician you contacted yourself
- A pop-up telling you to call a number is a scam, not a warning
Frequently asked questions
Is your remote support U.S.-based?
Yes. Remote support is provided by a U.S.-based technician working from Augusta, Missouri.
How is remote support charged?
It is charged for the time it takes. Ask for an estimate when you call and you will be told what to expect for your problem before the session starts.
What if the problem cannot be fixed remotely?
If it turns out to be hardware, you will be told. For clients in the Washington area an on-site visit or a drop-off is arranged instead.
Do I have to install anything permanently?
For one-time help, no. Ongoing remote monitoring is a separate arrangement that applies to business clients on ongoing support, and it is set up deliberately rather than left behind after a session.
Request remote support
Say what is happening and you will get a call back to arrange the session. If it is urgent, call 636-231-5555 instead — that is faster.
